About Me
Hi! I'm Javi, and I'm a certified teacher in Alabama. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Master's in Secondary Education in Mathematics, and a Bachelor's in Mathematics with a Concentration in Secondary Education. For the past 6 years, I have dedicated myself to the pursuit of education in the realm of mathematics. I have always loved to see the sparkle in my student's eye when a math concept finally clicks for them. For most people, math is hard - I get it! That's why in my sessions, I always give the time and the space for students to truly grow in their understanding of math without the pressure to "get it" right away. After all, only failure will lead to growth!
Along with my hundreds of hours' experience in the middle school and high school classrooms, I have 5 years' experience with private one-on-one tutoring at various college-level topics such as Algebra, Finite Math, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I. Whether you're a student grades 6-12 or at the college level, I'm the guy to come to for help!

500+ Hours Experience in 6-12 Classrooms
Through my teacher education program, I received hundreds of hours’ experience working alongside likeminded teachers in best practices and methods to assist students’ learning of math in the Tuscaloosa area.
In the Fall of 2025, I had the opportunity to lead a 7th and 8th grade classroom full-time at Hillcrest Middle School. Through this experience, I was able to implement various effective strategies to facilitate the learning and growth of rooms with 25+ students.
Through every moment spent in the classroom, I loved to see the incredible strides each student could make both in their math careers and in their personhood. Please click below if you would like to learn more about my teaching philosophy.
